Crop Scout / Agronomy Assistant
Job details
Full job description
Cedar Ridge Agriculture is growing and adding a Crop Scout / Agronomy Assistant to our Lumberton operation.
About Cedar Ridge Agriculture
Cedar Ridge Agriculture is a family-owned North Carolina agriculture and livestock operations business based in Lumberton. Founded in 2015, we run 3 locations in the Sandhills and employ a tight team that values doing the work well over scale.
About the role
You'll walk fields and tell growers what's actually happening in them. Day to day you'll scout crops for weeds, insects, and disease, assess staging and stand counts, pull soil and tissue samples, and record observations with field mapping apps. You'll report findings to the agronomist, flag thresholds that justify action, and help with trial plots, equipment calibration, and grain or forage sampling through the season.
What you will bring
You bring agronomy training or farm experience and the discipline to scout thoroughly when it's hot, buggy, and tempting to drive past. You identify common regional weeds and pests, take clear notes, and enjoy working outdoors independently. A valid driver's licence is required.
